Diagnostic Services

Our experienced veterinarians, supported by Hadlock Veterinary Clinic’s advanced diagnostic technology and skilled staff, have expertise in diagnosing and treating complex internal medicine cases such as kidney, heart, respiratory, immune-mediated and endocrine diseases.

This minimally invasive procedure allows a veterinarian to see inside a pet’s body and, when necessary, take biopsies (tissue samples) without having to perform surgery. Endoscopy is commonly used to examine the inside of the ears, nose, esophagus, colon, bladder, stomach, and other internal organs. Endoscopy can also be used to assist with minimally invasive surgeries and is particularly valuable in retrieving swallowed items.

If you have any questions about our endoscopy service or what to expect during your pet’s procedure, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Digital radiographs are a type of imaging that our veterinarians use to diagnose broken bones, tumors, internal injuries, and infection. Digital radiographs provide the highest quality images and we have the results within seconds, allowing our team to identify the problem sooner and provide treatment much more quickly than standard X-rays.

In-House Laboratory

We perform a broad range of blood tests, urinalysis, cytology, skin scrapings, and fecal analysis in our in-house laboratory, allowing us to obtain fast and accurate results. We perform complete blood count, blood serum chemistry, thyroid testing, glucose, and SNAP testing for heartworm, tick-borne diseases (Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and feline leukemia virus (FELV), and testing for giardia and pancreatitis.

For more complex testing, such as extensive or specialized blood testing and bacterial culture and sensitivity testing, we send samples to an outside referral laboratory for veterinary specialists to review.
